Get involved to help us in the fight against hunger and food waste in Greater Manchester.

Today, food poverty is on the rise across the country: furthermore, the story is no different in Greater Manchester.

  • Over 620,000 people in Greater Manchester are living in poverty;
  • This includes 180,000 children and young people.

Food insecurity and hunger have become shocking yet normal aspects of daily life for thousands of individuals in the region. This occurs every day.

At FareShare Greater Manchester, we resolve to fight hunger and food waste. We distribute quality surplus food to more than 220 charities and community groups across the region. This establishes our identity as a committed food poverty charity. Our goal is to ensure that meals go to those who need them most.

How we fight hunger and food waste…

How we fight hunger and food waste…

1.

We save good food from going to waste…

hundreds of tonnes from the food industry.

2.

Redistribute it around Greater Manchester…

From Wigan to Stockport.

3.

To charities, schools and community groups…

over 200 of them including children’s clubs, homeless hostels and refuges.

4.

…who turn it into meals for vulnerable people

Last year we redistributed enough food for over 3,000,000 meals.
