Could your company donate surplus food to help those in need in Greater Manchester?
We accept regular and one-off food donations into FareShare Greater Manchester.
We gratefully welcome deliveries to our warehouse, but if you can’t deliver, we have a 12 tonne lorry that can collect frozen, chilled and ambient stock at a time convenient to your company
We aim to make the donation of stock as simple as possible.
We have a large warehouse located on New Smithfield Market in Manchester, with plenty of storage including 50 pallet frozen storage capacity.
Supporting over 250 charities in Greater Manchester who provide food to those that need it most.
We believe that all good to eat food that is fit for human consumption should be eaten and not thrown away. We support over 250 charities in Greater Manchester who provide food to those who need it most.
Donating unwanted stock helps those in need, it is also a great way of reducing food waste and protecting the environment.
Preventing food waste also prevents the waste of the resources that go into producing that food.
For every tonne of surplus food FareShare redistributes, we prevent the waste of 2 tonnes of embedded CO2e emissions and 2.66 million litres of water.
In addition, we can provide you with quarterly impact reports highlighting the great work and support you have given to your local community and support your ESG objectives.
Food Safety and Traceability
We follow the same strict guidelines as the food industry. Our warehouse is audited both internally and externally to ensure full compliance. You can read the details on the ways we adhere to food safety here on the FareShare national website.
The charities we support also follow strict guidelines and are routinely checked by FareShare for compliance in food safety.
