🍏 If you find yourself on Market Street in town tomorrow, please pay a visit to the Young Marketeers who are selling the fruit and vegetables they’ve grown themselves.

🥕 Dozens of local children will be selling school-grown fruit and veg on Market Street as part of the #YoungMarketeers programme by @schoolfoodmatters - a brilliant #FoodEducation initiative teaching children where food comes from and how to grow it.

💚 All the money raised on Market Day will go to FareShare Greater Manchester.

🍏 We are hiring! We’re looking for someone to join our busy food allocations team to liaise with our Community Food Members (CFMs) and make sure they’re getting the food they need.

You will be working closely with our warehouse team and volunteers to quickly and accurately add incoming food to our database and then speak to our CFMs to confirm their orders.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, a strong communicator (both on the phone and in-person) and able to work quickly under pressure and to tight deadlines.

🙌 It was a super busy month for us in June – we redistributed the equivalent of almost half a million meals (494,680 to be precise)!

💚 Huge thanks to all of our food suppliers, our staff, volunteers and corporate volunteers for helping us make such a huge impact - rescuing good-to-eat surplus food from going to waste and getting it out to those who really need it.

June 2025 in numbers:
🚛207.7 tonnes of food redistributed
🍽Equivalent to 494,680 meals
💚264 charities served
🥕76.8 tonnes of veg
🍏15.9 tonnes of fruit
🍗14.1 tonnes of meat
🍞11.9 tonnes of bread
