Coronation Food Project

The Coronation Food Project seeks to tackle food waste and food insecurity across all four nations of the United Kingdom. This groundbreaking project aims to rescue surplus food and redistribute it to those needing it most while reducing carbon emissions.

FareShare is honoured to be a partner in this landmark initiative inspired by His Majesty King Charles III, which seeks to redistribute more surplus food to vulnerable communities.

FareShare is uniquely positioned to make a difference as the UK’s largest food redistribution charity. FareShare redistributed 128m worth of meals in the past year– equivalent to 4 meals every second.

The need for Fareshare has never been greater. One in five people are experiencing food poverty in the UK. Meanwhile, 7 billion meals worth of good-to-eat food go to waste in the UK’s food supply chain annually.

How are we helping?

Through the Coronation Food Project, FareShare will be working with the food industry to access more food to help strengthen communities across the UK and help build a more equitable future.
